In November of 2024, I released my first album "Time Won’t Heal" on most major streaming platforms.

I thought I would take some time this week to dive into the lyrics that I wrote and explain what they mean to me.
Verse one
"On the edge of the abyss, I walk alone
Bitter winds tearing flesh from bone
Faint voices linger, ghosts inside my mind
Every plea I've made, left to be confined"
In this verse I tried to convey the idea of being alone in the world. The "voices" are an indication of memories and the past advice that was given or lessons taught by important figures in someone's life. The last line is the feeling of helpless, wanting to call out for help, but internalizing the problems and not seeking the aid required. Asking for help can be the hardest thing to do, sometimes. It's a matter of pride and the "I can do it on my own mentality."
Pre Chorus/Chorus
"And the moon, she watches me, bleeding from her eyes
In this hollow world, I scream, but no one hears my cries
Midnight prayer, to the darkness I descend
No escape from this, where everything must end
Faded hope, in the cold and heavy air
I fall to my knees, but no one’s ever there"
In the chorus the theme of hopelessness continues. It alludes that the character has reached his end of his life. The Moon is the watcher of the night and sees everything. "Bleeding from her eyes" signifies that the moon feels the pain of the subject as he screams out into the world with no one around. It's the last act of the main character as he descends into darkness and takes his life.
Verse Two
"Broken wings spread wide, hiding all the stars
Hope turned to ash, leaving nothing but the scars
In the depth of night, I hear the call
A voice so distant, I'm spiraling through the fall"
In this verse our character finds himself dying. He sees the wings of being blocking out the sky is it an angle or demon I leave up to the listeners imagination. I imagine hope escaping them as they draw their last breaths. Being called home by the voice of the angel or demon coming to claim them.
Pre Chorus/Chorus 2 and 3
"And the night, she welcomes me, with her endless stare
Embrace the pain, embrace the hollow glare
Midnight prayer, to the darkness I descend
No escape from this, where everything must end
Faded hope, in the cold and heavy air
I fall to my knees, but no one’s ever there
And the moon, she watches me, bleeding from her eyes
In this hollow world, I scream, but no one hears my cries
Midnight prayer, to the darkness I descend
No escape from this, where everything must end
Faded hope, in the cold and heavy air
I fall to my knees, but no one’s ever there"
The only change here is the 2nd pre chorus instead of the moon watching them They talk about the night welcoming in them into her embrace. This is just more symbolism of the death of our character as they feel the last pain that they will ever feel and view the last sights that they will see.
Outro
"In the stillness of my cry, I fade away
The night is my tombstone, where memories decay
Midnight prayer, whispered to a broken sky
I wait for the answer… but only echoes reply"
Here our character draws his last breath crying out one last time into the night. A final prayer that goes unanswered
Summary
This song is a dark elegy about loneliness, existential despair, and the futility of seeking answers in an indifferent world. The repetition of unanswered prayers and fading hope creates a feeling of inevitable descent, where even celestial forces mourn but cannot intervene.
I hope you enjoyed this break down. Perhaps I will do more song or poem analysis in the future.
